Lovebugs damage a vehicle's paint in a way that can only be repaired by sanding and repainting. A Lovebug can damage your paint in a day sometimes. That is why it's so important to wash your vehicle often during their season. A few minor Lovebug marks are not typically a strong enough reason to repaint a bumper or etc, but the damage accumulates each time. If you just purchased a vehicle and you want some added protection, wax is a great option. Wax adds an extra layer of protection over your clearcoat. Wax is not as durable though as clearcoat and that is one of the reasons most people rewax their vehicles every 2-6 months. Check with your wax company to see what they recommend just to be safe.
